Using a Zip Tie to Remove Shims?

What do you guys think? Valid? My only comment would be to add another zip tie.... with a washer larger than spark plug hole to 100% eliminate possibility of zip tie in cylinder? 


 

I’m sure this method could be useful on some engines, in the absence of the correct tool for the job.  I take my hat off to the guy for producing such an excellent detailed video.

I participate on this site to share my knowledge and promote sound technical techniques. I thought this topic would die after the initial post but apparently not. The proper tool for adjusting shims can be bought from many vendors for as little as $20 USD. Why in God's name would anybody consider doing this job with a zip tie?????.
