started on the rear end today, took the top cover and rear light assembly off and found this
lots of the small bolts snapped off in the frame.
got the bike hanging from the roof of the shed and the shed is flexing, might have to remedy that..

With that much rust in one part I would not trust the frame at all. Trying to get a good one where the roads are salted may prove difficult but I would say that's the best option.

im thinking along the same lines Rick although all the damage appears to be in the rear end.
once i get the whole thing stripped ill do a few test holes on the rest and see what falls out

There's a company on E-bay called twowheelspares they listed a frame recently and it went unsold. They might be worth a try. I'm looking forward to your progress on the bike, I have always had a hankering for the fuel injected version.

Just bought another 1986 ZG1300 for spares.
It's actually in better condition than the other one
